Meyda Tiffany is over thirty years old and actually started as a hobby by Meyer Cohen. His wife Ida (whose names were combined into the company name Meyda) ask him to build a stained glass window so they wouldn't have to look at the vintage cars in their neighbor's driveway through their kitchen window Today Meyda Tiffany Lighting is America's leading and oldest manufacturer of Tiffany lamps and decorative lighting.

Over the years Meyda several lighitng companies like the Bent Glass Company which created original lighting fixtures, including the famous Coca-Cola chandeliers, and the Mecco Art Studio that was manufacturing the Old Forge line of custom crafted steel sculptured lighting and decor. The Mecco Art Studio produced original, natural and wildlife themes that included lamps, chandeliers, figurines, candleholders, towel racks, bookends, switch plates, coat racks, napkin holders, log holders, fireplace screens, and other home accents.

Today Meyda has dealers across the U.S. and Canada offering an extensive line featuring thousands of styles, from accent pieces to masterpieces. Some have been handcrafted of copperfoil and reverse-painted art glass, porcelain, jadestone, mica and other fine mediums. Meyda's lighting designs include Arts and Crafts, Prairie, Lodge, Mission, Bungalow, Victorian, Nouveau, Gothic, Southwest and Deco lighting designs. Many of his beautiful styles were inspired by the works of Louis Comfort Tiffany, Dirk Van Erp, Gustav Stickley, Philip Julius Handel, Pairpoint and Duffner & Kimberly Studios, Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
